Bio-TUNE's Summer School congregates 150 researchers and students in Yogyakarta

The Summer School of the Bio-TUNE project, jointly organized with the Doctoral Study Program and Department of Dental Biomedical Sciences (Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), the National Research Collaboration Center for Biomedical Scaffolds (Indonesia) and the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BRIN) took place as a hybrid event from the 10th to the 14th July, 2023, at Universitas Gadjah Mada (Indonesia).

The Summer School of the Bio-TUNE project, Strategies to develop new generation of multifunctional scaffolds and implants with cell instructive and antibacterial properties, took place fromn the 10th to the 14th July, 2023 in Yogyakarta (Indonesia) in a hybrid format.

150 members from all 10 institutions in the project (PIs, ER and ESR), together with researchers and students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Negeri Manado, BRIN, Institut Teknologi Bandung, USM-IPPT, University of Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Yogyakarta, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung, Hasanuddin University, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Universitas BrawijayaUniversitas Diponegoro, Muhammadiyah University of East Borneo, Universitas Riau, Rsud ratu zalecha martapura, Universitas Andalas, Universitas Mohammad Husni Thamrin and Universitas Muria Kudus (Indonesia), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, National University of Malaysia (Malaysia) Tokyo Medical and Dental University, Niigata University and Tokushima University (Japan)Taipei Medical University (Taiwan), Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (India), Pohang University of Science and Technology (South Korea) and Fraunhofer IKTS (Germany) were present, wether in situ or online, for the talks, workshops and round tables included in the Summer School.

During the Workshop on Amazing Flash Presentations, students attending in situ were invited to prepare a Flash presentation in front of a Jury formed by the attending BioTUNE's PIs in order to stablish the best ones. Several BioTUNE's ESR were awarded:

On-site attendants also had the opportunity to share some meals together and enjoy each-other company, as well as visiting UGM's laboratories and some of Yogyakarta's main UNESCO's World Heritage sites.
