Bio-Tune Early Stage Researcher Mohd Khairul Akma Bin Darwis (supervised by Dr. Siti Hawa Ngalim,USM, Malaysia) has began hir 4-month secondment at the Unité UMR1121 (INSERM Strasbourg) Biomatériaux et Bioingénierie, under the supervision of Dr. Philippe Lavalle and Dr. Nihal Engin Vrana.

He will work on the development of biofunctionalized micropatterns designs that can be utilized for biological evaluation. There are three main outlines of this project which are micropatterns fabrication,
micropatterns application on hydrogel, and physical and biological evaluation of RAW 264.7 cells in response with hydrogel patterns. From here, we might get insight on the cellular effect of patterned hydrogel with different geometry.

Khai will be involved as an ESR at INSERM for a 4-month period, from August 21st until December 21st, 2023.
