Sep 23, 2024

Dr. Anna Brandi, Technical Staff at the University of Camerino (Italy) has arrived to Buenos Aires (Argentina) for a 3-months secondment at Universidad Nacional de San Martín (UNSAM), at the Advanced Biosensors Group, led by Dr. Pallarola.

Dr. Anna Brandi, Technical Staff at the Scuola di Bioscienze e Medicina Veterinaria of the University of Camerino (UNICAM, Italy) has arrived to Buenos Aires (Argentina) for a 3-months secondment at Instituto de Nanosistemas of the Universidad Nacional de San Martín (INS-UNSAM), at the Advanced Biosensors Group, led by Dr. Diego Pallarola.

During her time in CABA, Dr. Brandi will be involved have the possibility to carry out two specific activities:

a) Collaborate with researchers at UNSAM on the characterization of bacterial adhesion to functionalised surfaces. Through the use of biosensors, she will learn the techniques required to study the dynamics of bacterial adhesion leading to formation of biofilms;

b) Evaluate the response of biosensors to bioactive metabolites, endowed with antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcus aureus. These secondary metabolites, obtained from environmental bacteria of the Culture Collection of UNICAM, have been purified at UNICAM as planned in WP3 of Bio-TUNE.

Anna's secondment goes from Sept. 13th to Dec. 13th, 2024, both included.
