Diego Pallarola welcomes Julie Buisson for a 3-month secondment in his laboratories

PhD student Julie Buisson (INSERM, France) is in Buenos Aires for 3-month secondment at Instituto de Nanosistemas, under the supervision Dr. Diego Pallarola (UNSAM, Argentina).

Early Stage Researcher (ESR) Julie Buisson is a PhD student at Unité UMR1121  (INSERM Strasbourg, France),  under the supervision of Dr. Philippe Lavalle, Dr. Engin Vrana, Dr. Dominique Vautier and Dr. Morgane Rabineau. She has recently arrived to Argentina for a 3-month secondment at Instituto de Nanosistemas (INS, UNSAM), under the supervision of Dr. Diego Pallarola.

Her project at UNSAM consists in investigating how the remodeling of macrophage chromatin impacts cell adhesion dynamics and the resulting immune response by using real-time biosensors. She will be trained in the use of microelectrodes to monitor cellular processes, specifically focusing on cell adhesion when we experimentally modify the chromatin state of macrophages. The findings will provide a better understanding between chromatin remodeling, immune system regulation, and cell adhesion dynamics but also provide valuable insights for designing biomaterials with adapted properties.

Julie will stay at Dr. Pallarola's laboratories at Instituto de Nanosistemas from the 21st August to the 24th November, 2023.
