Lucia Cimarelli joins Pohl Milon's Lab at UPC Perú

Lucia Cimarelli, a Postdoc Fellow working with Dr. Roberto Spurio (Department of Molecular Biology, University of Camerino (UNICAM), Italy) is in the middle of her 3-month secondment a Dr. Pohl Milón laboratories at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) in Lima (Perú).

During this time, she will set-up a culture collection of microorganisms at UPC, sample environmental samples from several natural sources along the country: Humedales de Ventanilla (Callao, Peru') and Lomas de Ullujaya (Ica, Peru'), morphological characterize colonies by inverted microscope, isolate and purificate colonies from natural samples, cultivate, mantain and screen microorganisms in a cryobank for their antibiotics production and will train UPC Perú's students in some related lab techniques.

Her secondment at Dr. Milón's laboratories takes place from February 20th to May 22nd, 2023, both included.
