Mohd Khairul Akma Bin Darwis, 5-month secondment in Max Planck

Mohd Khairul Akma Bin Darwis (USM, Malaysia), a student under the supervision of Dr. Siti Hawa Ngalim, is in Germany for a 5-month secondment in Max Planck, under the supervision of Dr. Ada Cavalcanti-Adam.

Bio-Tune Early Stage Researcher Mohd Khairul Akma Bin Darwis (supervised by Dr. Siti Hawa Ngalim,USM, Malaysia) is in Germany to carry on his 5-month secondment at Max Planck, under the supervision of Dr. Ada Cavalcanti-Adam.

In line with the main emphasis of ourproject, he aims to be continuing his previous project in France, focusing on the development of biofunctionalized hydrogel micropatterns, along with some additional features which involve nanopatterning. Also, this project will mainly focus on the biological evaluation to investigate the integration of his patterned hydrogel with macrophages and osteoblasts differentiation that, eventually, can be useful for bone implants. 

Khai will be involved as an ESR at Max Planck from March 13th until August 15th, 2024, both included.
