Roberto Spurio hosts Roberto H. Alcántara in his lab during a 3-month secondment

Roberto Hugo Alcántara Estela, a PhD from UPC (Peru) under the supervision of Dr. Pohl Milón, is currently seconded as and Early-Stage Researcher at UNICAM (Italy), under the guidence of PI Roberto Spurio.

During the 3 months that is in Italy,  he is working on the development of a bioinformatic pipeline for the analysis of Biosynthetic Gene Clusters (BCG) of antibiotic producer strains and in transfering the phage display technology available at UPC Lima to UNICAM, with the aim to identify peptide inhibitors of S. aureus.

These activities are part of a composite program of secondments carried out within Bio-TUNE, which started in 2022 by a secondment of Roberto at UNICAM and will continue till 2024.

 Roberto 3-month secondment started in August 23rd, 2023 and will continue until November 21st, 2023.
