Saifuddin Aziz, PhD in Chemistry

Saifuddin Aziz (Universitas Gadjah Mada, UGM, Indonesia) defended his PhD Thesis "Synthesis of Polyvinyl Alcohol/ Silver Doped Carbonate Hydroxyapatite Composite Nanofibers with Antibacterial Properties against Peri-implantitis and The Study of The Position of Silver in The Nanofiber" and has become Doctor in Chemistry by UGM, on June 10th, 2024.

The thesis, co-directed by Prof. Yusril Yusuf (FMIPA), Prof. Ika Dewi Ana (Faculty of Dentistry, FKG), and Prof. Harno Dwi Pranowo (MIPA), studied the use of PVA/Silver CHA nanofibers as to add antibacterial properties in implants, to fight peri-implantitis.

Saifuddin Aziz was an ESR of the BioTUNE project and carried on 2.7-month secondment at BBT-UPC (Spain), under the supervision of Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno and Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra.
