We are happy to announce that Bio-TUNE project has resumed its secondments. A PhD student from UNSAM (Argentina) will join Dr. Roberto Spurio's Lab in UNICAM (Italy) to continue with the tasks described in the project.
The first Issue of the Bio-TUNE project Newsletter has been published in April, 2021.
PhD student Alejandra Ross Beraldi (UNSAM) is currently carrying on a three months secondment at Dr. Roberto Spurio's Lab (UNICAM). As part of this secondment, Alejandra offered a Seminar on "DNA-based sensors for miRNA detection".
PhD student Lluis Oliver, member of the Bio-TUNE project, has been chosen as representative of the UPC for the "Present your thesis in 4 minutes" competition, organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
Bio-TUNE researchers Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno and PhD student Lluis Oliver, together with Dr. Helena Martin-Gómez, just published a review on "New trends in the development of multifunctional peptides to functionalize biomaterials" at the Journal of Peptide Science.
Members of Bio-TUNE presented the project at the virtual meeting "Meet my Lab", held on June 23th, 2021 and organized by EURAXESS ASEAN. Researchers Prof. Ika Dewi Ana, Dr. Siti Hawa Ngalim and Dr. Cristina Canal, together with Project & Communications Manager Ms. Noelia Aparicio, shared their experiences working in a RISE funded project,and the benefits of collaborating with scientific partners across the world.
Carles Mas Moruno, PI of Bio-TUNE, together with Prof. Conrado Aparicio and Dr. Paula Parreira, has co-chaired the mini-symposium “Bioinspired Antimicrobial Materials: Addressing Infections in Regenerative Medicine”, held within the 31st Conference of the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB 2021).
PhD student Lluis Oliver (UPC, Spain) has just traveled to Dr. Siti H. Ngalims laboratories (USM, Malaysia) for a two-month secondment.
PhD student Julieta Werner (UNSAM, Argentina) joins Dr. Carles Mas-Moruno (BBT-UPC, Spain) for a 6 month secondment in his laboratories.
PhD student Betania García (UNSAM, Argentina) has just traveled to the University of Bristol (UK) for a six-month secondment at Prof. Bo Su's laboratories.
